Does Boron Rich Food Help with Weight Loss?

Does boron help you lose weight? Is it an essential nutrient for humans? What are the symptoms of boron deficiency indoes boron help with weight loss humans? Does boron increase dht or testosterone? What are the healthiest foods containing boron?

What Is Boron? Is Boron an Essential Nutrient?

Boron is a trace mineral with many health benefits if consumed regularly. With a diet that includes boron, bone and joint conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis can be managed without any medication. As well as aiding in bone and joint health, boron helps the immune system. It is being discovered that even prostate and breast health may be improved, as well as the absorption of calcium, magnesium and other minerals.

Boron benefits brain function, as well. Being an essential mineral, boron improves cognitive functions like memory, focus, and hand-eye coordination.

But there are so many other important things that boron does for us, such as:

  • Helps protect against fungal infections like candida, and many other types of infection
  • Protects against stroke, heart attack and atherosclerosis by lowering lipid (fat molecules) levels
  • Helps maintain cellular and organ membrane functions and stabilizing hormone receptors responsible for many bodily processes and functions
  • Reduces the inflammation that causes conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. Boron is known to successfully improve more than 95% of arthritis cases significantly, by increasing the integration of calcium into the bones and cartilage
  • Daily supplementation with boron can reduce menstrual pain
  • Assists the enzymes responsible for wound healing
  • Works with calcium to strengthen bones
  • Helps us absorb copper, and greatly improves magnesium absorption(!)
  • Has been shown to inhibit the growth of lung, cervical and prostate cancers
  • Has a beneficial impact on how your body uses vitamin D and prevents vitamin D deficiency
  • Protects against pesticide-induced oxidative stress and heavy-metal toxicity

Does Boron Increase Testosterone?

While there are few supplements that actually are proven to do squat for raising testosterone levels, there are a small handful of exceptions, and boron is one of them. In fact, boron can significantly increase testosterone if the right dosage is taken. There is a “sweet spot”, but it can be hard to guage if you don’t know how much boron you are getting from your diet. You want to make sure you are not taking too much, so if you feel your testosterone is in fact low, start off with a small dose and work up. You will notice when you hit the sweet spot. And don’t exceed 15mg per day. With most people, 3-5mg is enough.Does Boron Increase Testosterone

By the way, the likelihood of getting enough boron in your diet is slim, unless you eat totally organic, and even then you are probably not getting enough for optimal health, due to boron and other micronutrients being hugely depleted from most of the soil our food is grown in.

A study showed that boron supplementation reduced estrogen levels and increased free testosterone levels with subjects taking 10mg of Boron per day over the course of one week (free testosterone is the good kind, which actually gets used, because it is not bound to a protein in the blood known as sex hormone binding globulin, or SHBG. And boron inhibits SHBG).

Although there is little concrete evidence to show that menopausal or post-menopausal women benefit from supplementing with boron, it may reduce their risk of osteoporosis, due to loss of bone mass, post-menopause.

What Are the Symptoms of Boron Deficiency in Humans?

Boron deficiency in plants is commonly known to not be good for the plants. But boron deficiency can be not so good for humans, too. Several functions in the body depend on adequate amounts of boron, and a deficiency can have some negative effects.

First of all, a decline in boron levels will cause a reduction in calcium and magnesium levels, which lead to bone issues and cognitive issues, to name a couple. And most doctors should take boron levels into account when testing men for low testosterone, which can cause risks to the prostate and the “little swimmers”.

Considering all the things that boron does for our health, the negatives of a deficiency of boron should be pretty easy to imagine.

Here are some signs that could be indicative of a boron deficiency:

  • Impaired brain function, including mental alertness, ability to focus, and short-term memory loss
  • Reduced bone mineral density, due to increased loss of calcium and magnesium through urination
  • A significant reduction in estrogen levels in post-menopausal women.
  • Poor fertility and libido in men, due to low testosterone levels
  • Poor health due to a reduction in vitamin D levels
  • Development of certain cancers
  • An enlarged prostate, which could lead to benign prostatic hyperplasia

Does Boron Help You Lose Weight?

Boron does play crucial roles in metabolism, including regulating the metabolism of carbohydrates, and burning body fat for energy. Here are a couple of testimonies.

  1. Thanks for dropping a line, Jerry. We’re glad you found the article helpful.

In case you didn’t know, I would say make sure you are not low in magnesium (most people are!) or your vitamin D supplements won’t do much good.

    Cheers.

  2. Thank you so much, David. Your words are very encouraging! It is so good to hear from like-minded people.

I have intermittently had that (Alka Seltzer?) song stuck in my head for 45 years. Nice analogy.

It is proving very difficult to get any real success in this niche, with G00gle being controlled by B1g Ph@rma. I hope you can make a go of it.

  3. I was unaware that Boron deficiency was as widespread as it is. I have been trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle due to having heart surgery almost 4 years ago but Boron was never discussed with me. My doctor said that I had a low testosterone level and that my vitamin D was low. He prescribed taking vitamin D supplements for this problem. I now realize that I should also be taking Boron supplements as well. This should help cover this deficiency as well as eating foods rich in Boron.

  4. First thing is, we are in relatively the same niche. My site is very new still, with a concern for the health of the earth, body, mind, and soul. I am also a practicing Buddhist who has a Chinese wife who lead me to where I am today, subsequently, where TCM is practiced here with almost all of our friends being the same (anti-Western medicine unless deemed life-threatening). We use quantum healing (Healy), acupuncture along with a variety of herbal treatments to heal and prevent any serious health issues. We have an excellent TCM doctor that is a healer of many in the Chicago area.

You have covered a lot of the same thinking I have and many others who are wise enough to the hypocrisy of chemical medicines and the “providers”, legal drug dealers, being so quick to whip out their prescription pads from the holster. What a sad way to follow the Hippocratic oath they took. Granted, there are some very good competent, compassionate doctors out there. However, when one is found or referred, they usually are so booked one cannot even see them. At least that’s the way it is here.

The body is the most amazing complex energy formation of atoms and cells that has ever graced the planet. I absolutely love your site (I have so much to learn) in having all that you provide for people who know better about their body’s natural ability to heal itself as well as Mother Earth and her gifts to us. I bookmarked your site.

It has everything for anyone that is interested in the real truth about medicine and herbal or natural remedies. I had a friend who worked for a major pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. Who told me that the R&D department was harder to get into than Fort Knox! And they often create drugs first, then find a use for them. That blew me away but did not surprise me the least. Big Pharma is very wealthy and powerful.

There are so many natural cures for every disease or virus but if a person gets cured, then they don’t need the $1,200-month bandaid anymore. Now, we can’t have that, can we? Poor doctors and drug companies can’t survive then. What a hustle! Westerners are so quick to run to the med cab to heal their ailments. Growing up, that is the environment for so so many unfortunate people. Enslaved to pills. The skull encrusted with pills… it looks like vicodin is great. Love it because so much is the mind more so than the body. If it’s in arms reach then the mind will find a reason to “plop  plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is,” mind-set.

Fortunately, people like you with your site are helping to inform people that there are healthy and curable alternatives from Mother Earth. You’ve done a fantastic job in building a very welcoming and informative and positive experience. The ads are relevant and easy to work around. The images and media are very well placed. Most of all the information is informative, honest, verifiable, helpful, and leads to more interest.

Best in all you do and may the Universe bless you abundantly as you well deserve.

  5. There is so much information about Boron that I have learned in your article. It’s entertaining to see that many of these natural ingredients are 10x better for us with a little bit of research. I’m glad I’ve stumbled across this page.

I’ll be following along more articles. Keep em coming!

  6. I believe that if your one and only purpose is to lose weight, then the only thing that matters is your calorie intake. If you care about muscle/fat ratio, and other factors, or to boost your iron and calcium levels, then yes it does matter what you eat and what not.

  7. Hey, Jannette. I hope you are okay. It sounds like the multiple medications might be doing you more harm than good. I’m glad you found the article informative, and that you sound like you are open to finding ways to take control of your health without the Rockefeller medicine cabal!

  8. I have heard about Boron and now after reading your research I understand more about it now.
It’s interesting to know that Boron can treat joint conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis without medications. As I am at beginning stage of arthritis and all ready take enough medications for other conditions, and don’t need more.’
I had a stroke earlier this year, with Boron if had in my system wonder if I could have avoided this stroke.
However, I am going to bring this research up with my primary physician this coming week. My NP followers me on Facebook, went ahead and shared your article with her through messenger.
